School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia -- UEA (UK)

The School of Environmental Sciences is one of the longest established, most experienced and largest in this field in the United Kingdom. It is the only department of environmental sciences, of more than fifty to achieve the coveted 5* Research Assessment Grade. In the School of Environmental Sciences physical, chemical, biological and social science methods are applied to the study of natural and human environments and man's role in them. The School therefore brings together subjects usually studied in separate departments. The school's strong atmospheric sciences group, has spent 10 Million EURO restructuring and refurbishing our laboratories. The Climate Research Unit is one of the centres within the School that has achieved world-wide attention for its work on past and future climate. The work within the cultural environment is fostered by connections with the University's Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and two local cathedrals.
